This seems like a great tip, but it didn’t take 5 minutes. To go through all the steps took a lot longer. The site map creation was easy but getting the google verification was a headache. I still don’t have verification and I’ve no idea why. Hopefully, the dedicated IP address won’t take long. If this makes a difference, it’ll be worth it all, though. Thanks for the info…just please don’t tell me it’s going to take 5 minutes!

Hello Shelley, sorry things are taking a little longer for you. However the website verification using Google Webmaster Tools should only take a few seconds. The way I do it, I choose to download the .html file Google gives you, drop that file into the root directory, and go back to Google Webmaster Tools and click to verify. That should literally take less than a minute!

By the way, that same .html file can be used to verify all your sites you list in Google Webmaster tools.

Please try it again using the .html method I describe above.
